Terms of use
Here is what binds us when you use Scalyx. We tried to write these terms in readable English, without making them longer for nothing.
Last updated on 22 July 2026
1. What this text covers
These terms govern your use of the app Scalyx: ADHD Planner & AI, distributed on the App Store for iPhone. By installing the app or by using it, you accept these terms.
Scalyx is an organisation and wellbeing app: a daily agenda in cards, an assistant that cuts what you have to do into small steps, a capture inbox, a focus timer and a place to breathe. It is an everyday tool, and that is already a lot.
The way your data is handled is described separately, in the privacy policy.
2. Minimum age and account
Scalyx is rated 4+ on the App Store. The app does not ask you to create an account, nor a password, nor an address to fill in: your tasks and your notes live on your iPhone and, if you turned syncing on, in your personal iCloud space.
Access to the app therefore depends on your Apple Account and on your device. Their security stays on your side: passcode, backup, protected Apple Account.
If you are a minor, use Scalyx with the agreement of the person responsible for you. Taking out a subscription assumes you have the legal capacity to do so.
3. What we ask you not to do
The list is short, and nothing in it should surprise you.
- Do not copy, resell, rent or redistribute the app.
- Do not decompile it, modify it, or work around its technical protections or those of the App Store.
- Do not use it to produce or spread content that is illegal, hateful or dangerous for other people.
- Do not try to overload, disrupt or divert the services that run the assistant.
- Do not use the app in a way that breaks French law or the law of the country you are using it from.
4. The Scalyx Premium subscription
Scalyx is free to download. A subscription, Scalyx Premium, is offered inside the app. Its price, its duration and what it opens up are shown to you in the app, before any confirmation.
- Subscribing goes through your Apple Account. Apple collects the payment, not us.
- The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, unless you turn renewal off at least 24 hours before the due date.
- You can manage it, pause it or stop it at any time on your iPhone, in Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions. Nothing to ask us here, nothing to justify.
- Refund requests are handled by Apple, from the App Store "Report a Problem" page. We have no say over them.
- If a trial period is offered, any unused part of it ends the moment the paid subscription starts: that is an Apple rule.
What the subscription contains can change from one version to the next. A price change never applies to a period already paid for, and Apple will let you know before any renewal at a new price.
5. Apple's role
Downloads, updates and payments go through the App Store. Apple does not publish Scalyx, is not a party to these terms, and does not provide support on the app or on its content. Apple is, however, entitled to enforce these terms as a third party beneficiary.
For any question about the app itself, write to us at support@scalyx.app. For an invoice, a refund or a subscription, go through Apple.
6. The assistant and your agenda
The assistant runs on an artificial intelligence model, which needs an internet connection and an outside service. A few points worth keeping in mind.
- A suggested plan stays a suggestion: it only enters your agenda if you tap "Add".
- On the other hand, if you ask the assistant to move, rename or delete an existing task, it acts directly in your agenda. That is the point, and you may as well know it.
- It can be wrong: a time slot that is too optimistic, an instruction it misread. Read what it suggests before relying on it for what really counts, a medical appointment or an administrative deadline for example.
- Its answers are not medical advice, nor legal advice, nor financial advice.
- Avoid giving it information you would rather keep to yourself. The details of the processing are in the privacy policy.
7. Scalyx is not a medical device
Scalyx is a productivity and wellbeing tool. It is not a medical device. The app makes no diagnosis, treats neither ADHD nor any other condition, and replaces neither the advice, nor the follow up, nor the treatment decided with a health professional.
Guided breathing, affirmations and the mood journal are there to keep you company through your day, not to treat you. What you write in the app is not read by any caregiver.
If you are going through a hard time, talk to a doctor or to a health professional. In an emergency, call your local emergency number. In France, that is 15 or 112, and 3114 answers free of charge, day and night, when things are really not going well.
A mention of ADHD in the name or the description of the app says who it thinks of first. It says nothing about your diagnosis, and it does not stand in for one.
8. Intellectual property
The app, its name, its interface, its illustrations, its icons and its texts, affirmations included, are protected by copyright and remain the property of Scalyx.
Downloading from the App Store gives you a personal, non exclusive and non transferable licence to use it on your iPhone. It transfers no right over the app itself: no copying, no reselling, no derivative product, no extracting the affirmations or the visuals to republish them elsewhere.
What you write, on the other hand, belongs to you
Your tasks, your notes, your conversations with the assistant and your journal entries stay yours. We claim no right over them, we do not sell them and we do not publish them anywhere. You are responsible for what you put into the app.
9. Service availability
Scalyx is provided as it is. We do our best to keep it working well and up to date, without being able to promise it will be available continuously or free of defects.
- An iOS update, a network outage or a failure at a provider can make the assistant unavailable for a while.
- Syncing depends on iCloud, so on a service Apple operates and that we do not control.
- Features can change, take a different shape or disappear from one version to the next.
- The service can be suspended, for the time of a maintenance, or stopped. If Scalyx were to close, you would be told within a reasonable time, so you have time to get back what matters to you.
Keep an iCloud backup active: that is what protects your data if you change iPhone or reinstall the app.
10. Limitation of liability
Within the limits allowed by law, the publisher cannot be held liable for indirect damage linked to the use of the app: loss of data, a notification that does not arrive, an appointment missed because the assistant placed a time slot badly, or the consequences of a decision taken from what the app was showing.
Scalyx helps you lay out a day. It replaces neither your own attention, nor the tools you count on for what is truly important.
Nothing in these terms takes away the rights that French law grants to consumers, in particular the legal guarantee of conformity and liability in case of gross negligence or personal injury.
11. Stopping whenever you want
You can stop using Scalyx at any moment: uninstalling the app is enough. No explanation to give.
One practical point: uninstalling does not stop a running subscription. If you took out Scalyx Premium, cancel it first in your iPhone settings, otherwise renewal carries on.
On our side, we may restrict access to a service in case of clearly abusive use, or use that goes against point 3, after warning you when that is possible.
12. Changes to these terms
These terms can change, for instance when a feature evolves or when a legal obligation appears. The date of the last update, at the top of this page, shows the version in force. In case of an important change, the information will be given in the app or right here, and continuing to use Scalyx after that date counts as acceptance.
13. Applicable law
These terms are governed by French law.
In case of disagreement, write to us first: most situations get sorted by email, and it is quicker for everyone. Failing an amicable agreement, the French courts have jurisdiction. If you use Scalyx as a consumer, you keep the right to bring the matter before the court of your place of residence, and the protective rules of the country you live in continue to apply.
14. Writing to us
A question about these terms, a point that seems unclear or badly worded: support@scalyx.app. We answer in English as well as in French.
